Brain Arteries Movement Detection with Gated Gradient Echo Sequence: Standardization, Registration and Subtraction of Serial Magnetic Resonance Images.

چکیده
In order to make evident pulsing brain arteries movements associated with heart activity, intramodality MR registration and subtraction has to be used to detect small differences between serial MR brain images. A new voxel-based rigid-body registration algorithm, including: (1) a standardization of grey levels procedure by means of similarity measure optimisation, (2) a new full 2-D convolution cubic interpolation zooming procedure, (3) a low computational cost multi-scale iterative procedure, that uses the zoomed versions of images to be registered, is proposed. It allows up to 1/8 pixel accuracy.

Geometric distortion evaluation of magnetic resonance images by a new large field of view phantom for magnetic resonance based radiotherapy purposes
Background: The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)-based radiotherapy planning method have been considered in recent years because of the advantages of MRI and the problems of planning with two images modality. The first step in MRI-based radiotherapy is to evaluate magnetic resonance (MR) images geometric distortion. Therefore, the present study aimed to evaluate system related geometric distort...
متن کاملThree-dimensional, in vivo MRI with self-gating and image coregistration in the mouse.
Motion during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans routinely results in undesirable image artifact or blurring. Since high-resolution, three-dimensional (3D) imaging of the mouse requires long scan times for satisfactory signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and image quality, motion-related artifacts are likely over much of the body and limit applications of mouse MRI. In this investigation, we explor...
متن کاملPseudo-CT Generation from Magnetic Resonance Imaging by fuzzy look up table algorithm
Introduction: Despite growing interest in the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in the external radiotherapy design process (RT), Computer Tomography (CT) remains a gold standard and is regarded as a basic imaging modality in radiotherapy. MRI shows the high contrast in soft tissues without any radiation exposure to patients. As a result, MRI is used in functional tissue ...
متن کاملImage quality improvement in three-dimensional time-of-flight magnetic resonance angiography using the subtraction method for brain and temporal bone diseases.
BACKGROUND Time-of-flight (TOF) magnetic resonance (MR) angiography is based on flow-related enhancement using the T1-weighted spoiled gradient echo, or the fast low-angle shot gradient echo sequence. However, materials with short T1 relaxation times may show hyperintensity signals and contaminate the TOF images. The objective of our study was to determine whether subtraction three-dimensional ...
متن کاملThe Optimization of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Pulse Sequences in Order to Better Detection of Multiple Sclerosis Plaques
Background and objective: Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most sensitive technique to detect multiple sclerosis (MS) plaques in central nervous system. In some cases, the patients who were suspected to MS, Whereas MRI images are normal, but whether patients don’t have MS plaques or MRI images are not enough optimized enough in order to show MS plaques? The aim of the current study is ...
